Fetherston Mask Tutorial

Earlier this year, I posted about my love for Erin Fetherston's masks that were featured during her Fall 2009 runway show, and vowed to make them. Last night I finally did! Here my version P.S. I Made This style. 

Here's what you need:

Paint on the glue in small sections, then pour glitter on the wet glue.

Repeat!

Before you know it, you'll have a glittered mask!

A tip: Lighter glitter will show the pattern underneath like the pink I used for the tiger mask, but I think it looks cool!

No remorse

Shopping is a weakness. I've made many an impulse buy (I'm talking to you ivory boots) which was followed by a deep sense of regret.

I've also made some fantastic purchases which continue to please with every use. The above are a recent acquisition and with each passing day I think they are better and better. I am in deep like with them. Pretty sure we're getting serious.

Durable oiled leather, crazy comfortable wooden heel, amazing with both pants and skirts.

I done good.

Drastic Cherries

 Apparently the new band craze is playing under the anagram of your band's name. 

Naturally, I had to figure out my anagram. There were a ton of options, but I chose Drastic Cherries because it was the coolest. 

My favorite Cherry? Cherry from The Outsiders. How pretty is Diane Lane?? That kind of pretty isn't normal. My second favorite cherries are maraschino. They're terrible for you and so sweet it makes my teeth hurt, but I like them anyway.

What's your anagram?

Gone to the birds

Ever since I volunteered in the bird nursery at a wildlife center, I see all kinds of bird personalities shining through as I look around at the Crows and Robins and other little avian creatures. That's one reason why I love these bird houses. The other reason is this video I saw on Cute Overload (naturally).


I simply cannot get enough. To me, it is so cute, and a magical little bird world I wish was real.

My favorite parts are:

1) When he whistles as he hops to the fridge. I have that tune stuck in my head.

2) At the end when the slogan is tweeted instead of said.

I hope you like it! It makes me happy.

Sugar momma

 The heart of this blog is sugar and every sweet thing that inspires me. Sugar cane is the mother of all sugar, so I felt it deserved a little visual spotlight. My mother is from Honduras, and I have fond memories of gnawing on raw sugar cane sticks when visiting my family in Central America.

At the carnival: Funnel Cakes

I was craving funnel cakes, started looking them up, and a post was born. Carnivals are not really in season right now but funnel cakes are fun to imagine enjoying at all times of the year.
